Eight people lost their lives on the spot in a tragic road accident on Saturday morning involving a lorry and a 14-seater matatu at Korompoi, Kitengela, along the Nairobi–Namanga highway.
The matatu which was full to capacity was heading towards Kitengela and the lorry was heading towards Isinya.
According to eyewitnesses, the speeding lorry was overtaking another vehicle heading in the same direction before it collided with the oncoming PSV.
Isinya Sub County police commander Simon Lokitari said, those injured are receiving treatment in various health facilities and the bodies were moved to Shalom Community hospital morgue and Kitengela Sub County hospital funeral home awaiting identification and postmortem.
