American rapper Drake has made history surpassing Michael Jackson as the male soloist with the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
With his recent launch album ‘Iceman’ which almost featured one of Jackson’s iconic crystal-studded gloves on the cover photo, Drake has swiftly moved to the top on the music industry, surpassing his longstanding records.
For decades, Jackson held the record for the male solo artists, with his first win in 1972 with ‘Ben,’ followed by ‘Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough in 1979. Since 2023, Drake has sought to reach this milestone by releasing thirteen singles to secure No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
Featuring other artists such as Rihanna in ‘What’s My Name?’ in 2010, he has remained dominant, maintaining his lane. Drake has been recording himself, launching albums alone without featuring other artists.
In the recent albums he launched, he recorded himself as Janice STFU from his new album ICEMAN, debuting at No. 1. He has long referring himself as the King of Pop measuring himself against Michael Jackson.
Drake now ties Taylor Swift and Rihanna with 14 No. 1 hits, while Mariah Carey with 19 and The Beatles with 20 remain ahead of him.
