Kenya’s Director-General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, has called for fairness and transparency in the country’s ongoing health financing reforms.
In his address to a training workshop for the Health Benefits, Tariffs and Advisory Panel organized by UK’s National Health Service (NHS) specialists, Dr. Amoth suggested that reforms be formulated to protect Kenyans not only from disease but also from poverty.
What we are learning today is at the heart of our health reforms benefit definition, tariff establishment, and ensuring that access to health care is for all Kenyans without endangering financial ruin,” he clarified for the panel.
He noted that the benefits and tariffs package being built will play a pivotal role in identifying the health of Kenya’s future health care through the offering of services that remain accessible, equitable, and sustainable for all citizens.
