Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has urged African nations to take an active role in shaping global rules governing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the military.
Addressing a high-level regional workshop in Nairobi, Tuya warned that leaving such critical decisions to powerful countries could expose Africa to policies that undermine its security.
At the three-day forum, held under the global Responsible AI in the Military Domain initiative -(REAIM), policymakers, defence experts and international partners will explore how to leverage emerging technologies in peacekeeping to ensure stability across the continent.
