Kenya, once again, takes pride in hosting the 2026 Magical Kenya Open (MKO), one of Africa’s premier golfing spectacles.
The tournament takes place from February 19th to 22nd this year will attract 144 professional, amateur, regional, and international golfers from across the globe.
According to Sports Cabinet Secretary, the move reaffirms Kenya’s growing stature in the international golfing calendar, reinforcing our standing as a trusted destination for world-class tournaments, sports tourism, and elite competition.
Mvurya spoke at Karen Country Club after he unveiled a dynamic squad comprising 11 professionals, 4 elite amateurs, 2 junior players, and 2 regional professionals who will proudly carry our flag into this prestigious contest.
“I am assured they are prepared, focused, and fully charged to deliver a sterling performance on the global stage” Mvurya said.
Adding; “Through structured development pathways, strengthened local tours, and deliberate public–private partnerships, the Government is building a sustainable pipeline of world-class Kenyan golfers capable of competing internationally while attracting investment and driving sports tourism”.
The CS was accompanied by Sport Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi and the Golf Fraternity.
