The Commission on Revenue Allocation has appointed CPA Roble Said Nuno as its new Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer.

In a statement issued on Friday, the commission said Nuno’s appointment followed a competitive recruitment process conducted in line with public service hiring procedures.

The interviews were held at the Kenya School of Government on May 14 and included oral interviews as well as psychometric assessments for shortlisted candidates.

The Chairperson of the Commission of Revenue Allocation (CRA), Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati, revealed that several candidates were considered in the exercise and that the selection process was open and based on merit.

It is notable that Nuno assumes office as discussions over the country’s 2026/2027 national budget and the sharing formula among the counties are underway.

The commission has an important function in providing advice on how to allocate revenues to national and county governments, while at the same time overseeing financial management practices within the counties.

Mr. Nuno joins the team with vast experience in accounting and public finances. He is a certified public accountant with membership of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Some of his past jobs have included positions such as being a member of the County Executive Committee for Finance and Health in the Government of Garissa County. He has also been a Director of Revenue in Garissa County, in addition to working with organizations like the Kenya Urban Roads Authority and Ministry of Roads and Public Works.

CRA was confident that experience in leadership and public finance management gained by Nuno will enable the commission to enhance itself in executing the mandate bestowed on it by the constitution.

This is coming at a very crucial moment when the counties are asking for more resources and increased attention on how public resources are distributed.
