Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting at Afya House between the Council of Governors and officials from the National Equipment Service Program (NESP) in a bid to speed up the programme’s rollout in counties.

The discussions centered on keen examination of NESP’s implementation strategy and how to best adjust it to suit county health facilities’ needs..
Central among the issues of discussion were positioning equipment in specific counties and why targeted sensitization was important to ensure buy-in of county governments to the program.
Duale praised the team’s work and highlighted the program’s facilitative role in enhancing access to quality and affordable health care. “NESP remains a vital pillar on our journey to Universal Health Coverage,” he said.
The meeting is part of efforts being repeatedly made by the Ministry of Health in an effort to enhance service delivery through strategic partnerships with county governments.
