Co-operative Bank of Kenya has been named Kenya’s Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy at the 2026 Global Private Banking Awards, recognising its investments in wealth management, premium banking services and personalised financial solutions.

The award was presented on November 5, 2026, in London, United Kingdom, during an event organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM) and The Banker, both publications of the Financial Times Group.

The recognition follows the bank’s transformation of its Executive Banking business, which targets affluent and high-net-worth customers through dedicated banking facilities, specialised advisory services and integrated financial solutions.

Co-op Bank operates a two-tier Executive Banking model comprising Executive Banking for mass-affluent customers and Executive Plus Banking for high-net-worth individuals, allowing it to tailor services to different customer segments.

As part of the expansion, the bank has revamped 43 Executive Banking centres and established five premium Executive Plus lounges in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu.

The lender has also introduced a One Client, One Relationship Manager model, giving customers a single point of contact for their personal and business banking needs.

Through this arrangement, customers can access specialised services in trade finance, mortgages, asset finance, treasury and investments, simplifying access to financial solutions under one relationship management structure.

Co-op Bank has further strengthened its wealth management services through its Virtual Wealth Desk, which connects customers to investment advisory, stockbroking and asset management services.

The services are complemented by Co-optrust Investment Services Limited, the bank’s investment management subsidiary, which manages assets worth more than KSh500 billion.

The bank has also invested in digital platforms to improve access to investment products, including money market and bond funds, allowing customers to transact and monitor their investment portfolios digitally.

In addition, Co-op Bank continues to strengthen its advisory expertise through professional development and international certification programmes.

Its customer engagement initiatives, including The Captains Club, provide platforms for business networking, customer interaction and financial education.

The award places Co-op Bank’s Executive Banking transformation among the developments recognised by the organisers of the 2026 Global Private Banking Awards for their contribution to private banking and wealth management.
