Lawrence Luvanda 85th minute equaliser salvaged the Tusker FC from a loss after an early opener sadly to their side at the Police Sacco Grounds yesterday.
Tusker’s Marvin Nabwire had put the Police FC ahead at the 17th minute with the own goal.
The brewers laboured hard for a win to redeem themselves but ended up with a 1-1 draw in the FKF Premier League.
Luvanda had come on for the final 20 minutes of the game, and made his impact felt to rally a point away from home.
His shot from inside the box off a Collins Odhiambo cutback from the right beat Patrick Matasi in the Police goal.
The team could have clinched a win in the final five minutes plus eight of added time, with Jacob Onyango and Joseph Mwangi both having rasping shots that evaded the target by a whisker.
In the second half, Police started on the strong foot again, and they almost scored the second when Okoth glanced a header from Baraka Badi’s cross, but Joseph Ochuka pulled an outstanding save.
The draw leaves Tusker in sixth place with five points from four matches.
The brewers had surrendered a 2-0 lead to Kariobangi Sharks that saw them lose 3-2 before toiling for a 2-2 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz.
