Kenyan musician Bensoul has released anticipated new album “Flight 420”, an album that consists of reggae-inspired sounds, Afrosoul and Afropop.
The album, released on October 30, brings together an exciting collection of musical collaborations, featuring some of Kenya’s celebrated artists, including Savara, Scar Mkadinali, Hornsphere, Watendawili and Ywaya Tajiri.
The album consists of 13 tracks that draw from the experiences, relationships and changing emotions that have shaped his personal and creative journey, exploring what it means to grow, find joy in the present and pursue the things that make life meaningful.
Flight 420 is a project that explores different aspects of life, personal experiences, relationships, happiness, growth and the pursuit of passion.
“I’m at a stage in my life where I’ve come to appreciate the simple things in life. This album wasn’t about hits, or creating what is supposed to trend; it was about encapsulating the feelings I have on a day-to-day basis, knowing that I’m not the only one,” Bensoul said.
He said the album is built around three interconnected themes: life, joy and passion, which they form a framework through which he examines the contradictions of being human, from the uncertainty of personal growth.
