Kenyan singer Bahati has finally spoken out after he was put on the spot by his fans and online users over his promise to give Harambee Stars Ksh 1 million.
The drama began after Bahati, along with his wife Diana Marua, went public that they would compensate the national football team for their efforts. Days turned into weeks, however, soon enough, their social media handles were bombarded by the fans demanding to know why the promise was yet to be fulfilled.
Bahati has now answered the question in his own style in a cheeky response.
“Nilisema nitapea Harambee Stars 1 million but si kusema whether is one million shillings or words. Give me time,” the artist said.
His comments sparked conflicting reactions on social media, with some of his fans claiming he was playing a trick on the national team while others cracked up at his response.
Bahati, who loves to blend music with online theatrics and stunts, has once again proven that he knows how to stay firmly in the spotlight.
