Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has broken his silence over claims that he has another wife and a child whom he allegedly abandoned in Embakasi, challenging former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria to produce the woman publicly.

Owino dismissed the allegations, insisting that Fridah Muthoni Ongili is his wife and that he is not worried about claims of another family.

Speaking during an interview on Thee Alfa House YouTube channel, the legislator said his wife understood him and was not concerned about the claims.

“My wife is not worried about that because she knows me; she knows the person she got married to. I’m married to Fridah Muthoni Ongili, that is my wife. Any other wife that I’m being given by Mosiria, I want that wife to be brought out in public,” he said.

Mosiria had alleged that the MP had another woman and a child in Embakasi whom he had allegedly neglected, with the claims attracting public attention.

In his response, Owino also opened up about his childhood, recalling how he was raised by a single mother after his father died when he was in Class Three.

He said the experience had given him an understanding of the difficulties women face when raising children without support from their partners.

The MP questioned why he would abandon any of his children while providing for others, insisting that he would not allow a child confirmed to be his to suffer.

“As Babu Owino, I cannot leave any of my children out there. Why would I feed people’s children before feeding my own child?” he posed.

He further challenged the alleged woman to pursue legal action if she believed he was the child’s father, saying the courts could help establish parental responsibility.

“You would’ve heard of these cases in court by now. That lady would’ve gone to court,” he said.

Despite dismissing Mosiria’s claims, Owino maintained that he was willing to take responsibility for any child confirmed to be his, regardless of where the child lived.

“If there’s any of my children anywhere; let alone Kenya, in Africa or the whole world, I want all my kids. A child is a blessing from God; you can’t punish a child,” he added.

The MP’s remarks came after Mosiria publicly raised the allegations, placing Owino’s personal life under scrutiny.

However, the claims about the alleged second wife and child have not been independently established.
