COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli was on Saturday re-elected unopposed during At COTU’s 15th delegates conference in Kisumu.
His extension will extend his service in the union since he was first elected in 2001.
Supporters celebrated the consensus among 300-plus delegates from 42 unions, with Atwoli thanking the government for staying out.
On Saturday morning , Atwoli had announced readiness for the poll.
“Joined COTU (K) delegates for the ongoing elections at the Tom Mboya Labour College, Kisumu,’Atwoli posted.

“Congratulations to my good friend mzee Francis Atwoli on his re-election as COTU Secretary General for the sixth term in a row. The workers of Kenya are in safe hands. Indeed Papa Atwoli is a bad loser,’Said Alinur Mohamed.
