Switzerland captain Lia Wälti has left Arsenal after seven years to join Italian giants Juventus.
The 32-year-old midfielder had one year remaining on her contract with the Gunners. She originally signed for Arsenal from Turbine Potsdam in 2018 and went on to make 183 appearances for the club.
During her time in North London, Wälti won the Women’s Super League title, two League Cups, and was part of the squad that lifted the Champions League last season—though she didn’t feature in the final against Barcelona.
On the international stage, Wälti has earned over 100 caps for Switzerland and led her country as captain during the UEFA Women’s Euro hosted on home soil this summer.
