Former AFC Leopards striker Boniface Ambani, a key figure in the club’s last league title 27 years ago, is vying for the chairmanship in elections set for June 29, 2025.

Ambani, who aims to restore the club’s lost glory, will face former Commercial Director Enos Mutoka after Ronald Namai withdrew from the race.

The winner will succeed Dan Shikanda, the outgoing chairman and FKF NEC Nairobi representative.

“For too long, we’ve yearned for our golden days. I believe the time to reclaim that legacy is now,” said Ambani while presenting his nomination papers.

Leopards have endured a long title drought while rivals Gor Mahia have surged to 21 titles, with Tusker just one behind Leopards’ 12.

Ambani’s campaign focuses on transparency, boosting player welfare, and rebuilding the team.

He pledges accountability, revenue growth through merchandising and sponsorships, and equal support for the women’s team.

“With transparency, inclusivity, and proper planning, Ingwe can roar again,” he said.
