Medical Services Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga on Wednesday joined President William Ruto in Mombasa as 320 county health staff were confirmed from temporary contracts to permanent and pensionable terms.
The confirmation follows improved revenue collection in Mombasa, where the county has raised KSh 1.5 billion through the Social Health Authority (SHA) over the past 11 months.
With a performance rate of 68.4 percent, Mombasa is currently the best-performing county in the country.
President Ruto applauded Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, county health workers and Community Health Promoters (CHPs) for their role in strengthening health services.
He also called on other counties to adopt similar measures to speed up the rollout of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
